Uniform Conveyancing Blanks

New forms project

In 2006 and 2007, the Advisory Task Force on Uniform Conveyancing Forms (appointed by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce) undertook a project to renumber, restyle, and resize the existing Uniform Conveyancing Blanks (UCBs):

  • Renumbering – The UCBs were renumbered and grouped by series according to their respective subject matter. Some are listed in one series and cross-referenced in another. Form numbers marked “Reserved” are placeholders for future forms development by the Task Force. If you know the old “-M” number, use the “Cross Reference: Old to New Numbers, ” a table showing the old “-M” numbers and the current corresponding UCB form number.
  • Restyling – In reviewing the UCBs, the Task Force noted a number of inconsistencies across forms in language and format. The new UCBs are more consistent in their organization and styling. For example, all the UCBs now have the statutory short form acknowledgement and jurat forms, more user instructions; language and fill-in blank lengths have also been standardized.
  • Resizing – All the UCBs have been resized from legal to letter size (8-1/2” x 11). Although now many of the UCBs are two pages instead of one, the smaller size accommodates more printers and the requests of court and recorders offices statewide.

These revised UCBs were adopted by an Order of the State of Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 507.09 effective May 14, 2007.
