Two Alarm Fire Damages Four-Plex Apartment

Metro Fire Engine #106 arrived on Landin Ct to find visible flames and smoke from a two story 4 plex apartment. The fire quickly spread to the attic of the building. A second alarm was sounded bringing additional Firefighters to the scene to control the fire.

The fire was brought under control 10 minutes after the arrival of the first Engine Company. The firefighters were able to contain the fire damage to the attic are and the involved apartment #4. No one was hurt as a result of the fire. Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire to be food left unattended on the stove. The food caught fire and spread to the wall area.

Damage to the apartment extensive with an estimated loss of $ 10,000 to the contents and $100,000 to the structure. The Red Cross will handle temporary housing for the displaced family.
