Six-Year-Old Travis Hill Wants to Be a Firefighter

On Friday September 21,2001 six year Travis Hill knocked on the front door of Metro Fire Station #102 Located on Marconi Ave, Sacramento County. Travis was wearing his yellow Firefighter coat and toy fire helmet. Travis told the firefighters that he was very sad about all of the people that so many people were killed on September 11,2001.

Travis was with his family and his mother explained what Travis had done to help the situation. Travis stood on the corner of Hazelwood and El Camino with his fire clothes on and collected over $140 in donations for the Widows and Orphans Fund of the fallen FDNY firefighters. The firefighters watched as the little boy dropped the money into the donation boot. Travis was then given a station tour and then aloud to sit on the fire engine. Travis hugged the firefighters as he left the fire station.

Since the first visit to the fire station, Travis has been back several times to visit the firefighters. The firefighters drop by were Travis lives from time to time. Travis has been invited to join the firefighters for lunch at the fire station.
