An arsonist struck Cordova Meadows School again. This time the Arsonist ignited an office that was used for the preschool program. The alarm was dispatched at 10:00 Pm Saturday night. When Firefighters arrived they had an active fire working. The fire was brought under control in less than ten minutes of the first arriving Engine. Cordova Meadows has had a string of fires over the last 90 days. A total of 6 attempts have been made with 4 causing extensive damage to classrooms and one out building. The school district placed security at the school as well as adding surveillance cameras. When School Principle Tony Peterson arrived this morning to view the damage, he was able to view the arsonist igniting the fire from footage captured from the night of the fire. Metro Fire Investigators will work closely with the Sacramento Sheriffs Department on following up on the latest information. The video will assist in placing a description of the perpetrator to the public. The initial assessment of damage was listed at $30,000. After further assessment the loss was placed at over $100,000.
