Arson Suspect In Custody
Metro Fire investigators arrested 25-year-old Kelly George Nickolsen on
suspicion of arson. Metro Fire Investigators were watching the school when
the suspected arsonist was making another attempt on burning a classroom.
When two Metro Fire Investigators were driving by Cordova Meadows School
they viewed smoke in-between two classrooms and the suspect walked out
into clear view. When approached Kelly George Nickolsen age 25 of Rancho
Cordova, Ca was taken into custody. The suspect was wearing the same
clothes that were captured on the video surveillance pictures from a fire
the night before. The suspect was booked into Sacramento County jail and
is expected to be brought up on charges some time this week. Little is
known about the suspect. Fire Investigators will conduct interviews this
morning. The arrest of the suspected arsonist will hopefully bring to a
close several months of disruption to the students, faculty, and members
of the community that surround the elementary school. The cooperative
efforts of the Sacramento Sheriffs Department and Cordova/Folsom School
District are appreciated and made the progress of this case possible.
