Twenty-Nine Recruit Firefighters Graduate Tonight From Fire Academy

Twenty-nine recruit Firefighters will join the ranks of becoming Firefighters. A graduation ceremony will take place to celebrate the completion of a long intensive training academy. The recruits will receive the traditional Firefighter badge from either there respective Fire Chief or family member. The ceremony represents a welcoming of the new recruits to a firefighter family that will be a lifetime of challenges and friendships. The recruits will receive the badge and return for a few weeks of post graduation training. The Regional Fire Academy lasts 16 weeks and trains the recruit in various disciplines that will be needed to perform in an ever-changing fire service environment. Sacramento Fire Department will promote 18 Firefighters. Metro Fire will promote 10 Firefighters West Sacramento will promote 1 Firefighter.
