Fire Damages Duplex 6113 Oakgreen Circle Carmichael

At 3:25 P.M., Metro Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at 6113 Oakgreen Circle located in the community of Carmichael.  A large column of smoke could be seen from a distance away while Firefighters were responding. 

When Firefighters arrived, they were told that an occupant was trapped inside the burning duplex.  Firefighters searched the structure and confirmed that all escaped unharmed.  The fire was brought under control in just less than 15 minutes.  The structure sustained heavy damage in one side of the duplex.  The adjacent duplex received minor damage.  Estimated loss was placed at $100,000 for the structure and $ 40,000 for the contents.  A vehicle in the garage was also destroyed. 

Fire investigators are on scene conducting an investigation.  No cause has been determined yet.  It appears that the fire could have started in the garage area.
