| Two of Metro Fire’s most
experienced firefighters will retire after more than 38 years of
serving the community. Captain Dennis Mancebo will is serving his last
24 hour watch at Truck Company 23 located 6421 Greenback Lane were he
spent most of his 38 years of Firefighting and rendering aid to the
citizens of Citrus Heights. Engineer Donald Blackwood will serve his
last shift at Engine Company 28 located at 8189 Oak Ave. Engineer
Blackwood worked in various locations in his career. The last few
years have been served in the City Of Citrus Heights were Blackwood
started his career. Both of these men started their fire service
career close to 38 years ago. Both Macebo and Blackwood have a
combined experience of close to 80 years of knowledge and experience.
This is a loss for Metro Fire, but we are all pleased to wish these
men a happy and healthy retirement, and thank them for the
contributions they have made. Today many old friends and coworkers are
stopping by both fire stations wishing both well and thanking them for
a job well done! |
