Two Alarm Fire Damages Apartment

Just before 9:00 Am Metro Fire responded to a report of an apartment fire at 8200 Fair Oaks Blvd #79. When the first Engine arrived, they reported a working fire in the upstairs portion of apartment #79. A second alarm was sounded to bring additional assistance to control the fire. The adjacent apartments were at risk for a period of time. Firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire keeping the damage primarily to the affected unit. Fire investigators are on scene looking for a cause. The contents loss is estimated at $30,000 with the structure damage estimated at $70,000. The apartment will need extensive repair from the fire. The occupants will be displaced and the American Red Cross will assist.
